For all those out there who aren’t interested in choking on their popcorn. This list is perfect for getting in the mood for halloween, sleeping soundly at night, and not looking over their shoulder everywhere they go. These movies are a combination of fall fun, comedy, and the perfect amount of creepy.

  • Double Double Toil and Trouble (gotta love an MK and Ash classic)
  • Hocus Pocus (obvi)
  • Nightmare before Christmas
  • Coraline
  • Sleepy Hollow
  • Beetlejuice
  • The Addams Family, The Addams Family Values
  • Corpse Bride
  • Ghost Busters
  • Casper the Friendly Ghost (The Christina Ricci one, and the Lizzie Mcguire one)
  • It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
  • The Rocky Horror Picture Show

The Kind-of-Scary List

Screen Shot 2017-10-16 at 7.05.46 PM
This list is for those who want to start walking over to the dark side, but don’t have a fully black soul. You’d nod at Wednesday Addams in the hallway, but you’d never consider her a close friend. You want to watch the halloween horror classics, but you’re not interested in night terrors. You want to be able to hide under the blankets with your bae, get in the halloween mood, and add a little spice to your life. These are also what I’m calling ‘transition movies’, for all the people out there who really want to get into the scary movie scene but don’t tell people they still use a night light.

  • Nightmare on Elm Street
  • Halloween (the original one thought because the new one is TERRIFYING)
  • Friday the 13th
  • Trick r’ Treat
  • Tales of Halloween
  • Carrie
  • Edward Scissor Hands
  • Cabin in the Woods
  • Children of the Corn
  • It Follows
  • Underworld
  • Van Helsing
  • Misery

The Terrifying List

For the horror movie lovers out there. The people who live for Halloween, and are waiting for that one movie that pleasantly ruins their life. This list is jam packed with the scariest movies out there with all different themes: ghosts, demonic possession, serial killers, torture, and fucked-upery. For those who live in Halloweentown all year round, and turn all the lights off when the movie starts, and answer the door to trick or treaters with a jason mask on. The ultimate scary movie list. May the odds be ever in your favour. *I’ve also placed a star beside the ones that majority of people would find genuinely scary because everyone has a different opinion.

  • The Exorcist *
  • The Conjuring (1 &2)*
  • The Ring
  • The Grudge
  • Anabelle (1&2)
  • Get Out
  • The Babadook*
  • The Shining
  • Silence of the Lambs
  • Texas Chainsaw Massacre*
  • The Devil’s Rejects *
  • IT (new and old)*
  • The Blair Witch Project
  • Saw (tbh all of them are good)
  • Paranormal Activity (just the first 3)
  • 28 weeks laters
  • Sinister
  • Insidious
  • The Orphan
  • The Strangers
  • Don’t Breathe*
  • Occulus
